I’m Molly Goldberg, born in 1991, and currently living in Jerusalem. I belonged to the Chabad movement and left about 12 years ago for ideological reasons. Years before I disaffiliated I had seen and heard Hillel commercials on the radio, buses and bulletin boards. When I decided to leave my community, my sister and brother-in-law, who volunteered at Hillel, helped me. At the age of 18, I joined, and received social support, psychological support and a scholarship. Today I’m completing my degree and working as an activist. It’s important to me that I can stand on my own two feet and support and encourage others for the better.
I want to recommend to everyone who is either considering leaving, or who has already left, to think logically, considering both the ideological aspect and the hardships.
